BADDCLOWN III, TERRORIST THREATS
THIS ALBUM IS A TWO DISC SET. CHUCK CONNOR, AKA: AUTRY O’DAY, AKA: C.C. BIGGTOPP DID ALL THE INSTRUMENTS, LEAD AND BACKING VOCALS. CHUCK PLAYED RHYTHMN GUITAR, LEAD GUITAR, KEYBOARDS, PIANO, STRINGS (ORCHASTRATION SOUNDS ETC..), BASS, ACOUSTIC, TWELVE AND SIX STRING GUITARS. THE DRUMS WERE DONE BY TEN DIFFERENT PERCUSSIONISTS, ICLUDING THE EX DRUMMER OF THE MULTI-PLATINUM BAND GREAT WHITE- AUDIE DESBROW.
THE ALBUM TOOK APPROXIMATELY FOUR YEARS FROM MARCH 2000 TO MARCH 2004. A COUPLE OF GROUNDBREAKING THINGS HAPPENED ON THIS ALBUM: 1) THIS WAS THE FIRST DOUBLE CD SET DONE ON ANY OF CHUCK’S ALBUMS. 2) THIS WAS THE FIRST ALBUM DONE IN CHUCK’S STUDIO (HEAVENLY RECORDING STUDIO). TWELVE SONGS WERE ON DISC 1 AND 9 ON THE SECOND DISC (21 IN ALL).
THE MOTIVATION OF THE ALBUM TITLE, “TERRORIST THREATS,” WAS AN IRONIC STORY. IN THE PAST, CHUCK WAS ARRESTED FOR GIVING THE MIDDLE FINGER AND CHARGED BY THE UPLAND, CA POLICE WITH “TERRORIST THREATS.” A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER AS THE ALBUM WAS BEING CREATED, CHUCK’S THEN GIRLFRIEND (JULIA ROBERTS), WAS PHOTOGRAPHED BY CHUCK AS SHE WAS GIVING THE MIDDLE FINGER TO CHUCK BECAUSE SHE WAS MAD HE WAS TAKING PICTURES OF HER WITHOUT HER MAKE-UP ON. SO IRONICALLY, THE FRONT COVER HAS JULIA ROBERTS COMMITTING A FELONY TERRORIST THREAT, BY GIVING THE MIDDLE FINGER (ACCORDING TO THE UPLAND P.D. AND CALIFORNIA LAW).
THIS ALBUM BADDCLOWN III HAS A LARGER VARIETY OF SONGS AND STYLES THAN BADDCLOWN II AND I. DURING THE PERIOD OF THE MAKING OF THIS ALBUM, CHUCK HAD A SEVEN AND HALF MONTH RELATIONSHIP WITH ACTRESS JULIA ROBERTS (MARCH 26TH TO OCTOBER 28TH 2002- BREAKING UP ON HER BIRTHDAY). CHUCK WROTE THE ALBUM, “16 SONGS AND EXPRESSIONS FOR JULIA IN THAT TIME. AND TWO OF THE SONGS FROM THAT ALBUM WERE PUT ONTO “TERRORIST THREATS.” THOSE SONGS WERE “JULIA,” AND “ONE TRUE FACE.”
THE TEN PERCUSSIONISTS USED ON THIS ALBUM WERE: 1) AUDIE DESBROW, 2) EDDIE DUMGRINA, 3) TAKA CHEN RAMKA, 4) KEVIN WORLEY, 5) OSCAR LA BAMBA, 6) CHRIS REED, 7) BRAD GAIBOI, 8) CHAD CHAPMAN, 9) GEORGE PORGE, 10) JOSE SALDINO (WHO PROGRAMMED “MR. REALS SONG #4”).
THE ALBUM TOUCHED ON EVERYDAY TO POLITICAL TOPICS. THE SONG “HIDDEN SECRETS, FINALLY REVEALED,” WAS ABOUT THE FAILURES AND CONTROVERSIAL ACTIONS OF GEORGE W. BUSH IN ADDITON TO OTHER CONTROVERSIAL ACTS COMMITTED (LIKE CLAREMONT, CA COPS THAT MUDER).
ANOTHER POLITICAL SONG, “TERRORIST,” IS ABOUT THE HORRIBLE WAY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT TREATS THEIR OWN AMERICAN CITIZENS LIKE THEY’RE THE ENEMY SINCE THE TWIN TOWER BOMBINGS AND THE MIDDLE EAST CRISIS.
“IN GOD’S HANDS,” AN ANTI-WAR SONG DONE BY CHUCK AS A SOLOIST ON PIANO AND VOCALS.
“CHURCH MAN,” ANOTHER SOLO ON PIANO AND VOCALS BY CHUCK ABOUT CHURCH HIPPOCRACY.
OTHER IMPORTANT SONGS ON THE ALBUM WERE CHRISTIAN PRAISE SONGS, “THANK YOU JESUS,” (CHRIS REED ON PERCUSSION) A HARD ACOUSTIC GUITAR SONG, AND “FLY WITH GOD,” (AUDIE DESBROW- EX GREAT WHITE PERCUSSIONIST, ON DRUMS).
THE ALBUM HAD FOUR COVER REMAKES: 1) “SUPERSTITION”, (STEVIE WONDER’S SONG DONE HARD ROCK STYLE). 2) “THE BEAT GOES ON,” (SONNY AND CHER) DONE HARD ROCK STYLE. 3) “KEEP ON DANCIN,” (MARVIN GAYE) DONE HARD ROCK STYLE. 4) “LANDSLIDE,” (FLEETWOOD MAC/ STEVIE NICKS).
ALSO ON THE ALBUM, CHUCK PRODUCED LOCAL ORIGINAL GANGSTER ROCK N’ RAP ARTIST, ESTABAN HERNANDEZ, AKA: MR. REALS ON THE SONG “MR. REALS #4.” CHUCK ADDED HEAVY GUITAR LEADS AND RHYTHMNS TO ESTABAN’S GANGSTER RAPS, THUS CREATING THE FIRST EVER GANGSTER ROCK N’ RAP SONG IN HISTORY, 2003.
THE OTHER TWO SONGS WITH AUDIE DESBROW ON PERCUSSION WERE HARD ROCK SONGS WRITTEN BY CHUCK “GET HIGH,” AND “EZ- AS- 123.”
SONGS THAT LATER INCLUDED VIDEO ON THEM WERE 1) “I JUST WANNNA ROCK,” (THE 25 BEST BANDS OF THE I.E.) AND “JULIA,” (MUSIC DONE OVER A SKIT FROM THE FILM, “I WAS ENGAGED TO JULIA ROBERTS, AND NO ONE BELIEVED ME,” JULY 4TH 2003), ONE YEAR AFTER JULIA MOVED OUT FROM LIVING WITH CHUCK.
“RECOGNIZE,” A SHORT FOR THE FILM “BADDCLOWN/ AUTRY O’DAY, THE TRUE AMERICAN LIVING KING OF ROCK AND ROLL.” THIS SONG PUSHES THE ISSUE THAT MUSIC SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED MORE- NOT THE CLEBRITY OBSESSION AMERICA HAS TOWARDS ARTISTS.
THE SONG “BIRD,” WAS A TRUE SONG WRITTEN ABOUT A WOMAN BATTLING HER MORAL COMPASS. THE CONFLICT BEING WHETHER SHE SHOULD STAY WITH OR QUIT PROSTITUTION.
LAST, (BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST) “THE WOODSTOCK MASTERPIECE GENERATION,” AN ALMOST ELEVEN MINUTE TRIBUTETO WOODSTOCK. A MUST HEAR SONG.

THIS ALBUM HIGHLIGHTS THE FREEDOM CHUCK NOW HAD BECAUSE OF THE ENDLESS FREE RECORDING STUDIO TIME AVAILABLE DUE TO HAVING AND OWING HIS RECORDING STUDIO. IN CONTRAST TO BADDCLOWN I AND II WHICH WERE COSTLY GAS WISE, TIME WISE, GEOGRAPHICALLY AND FINANCIALLY (THE ALBUMS BADDCLOWN I AND II WERE UNDER STATUE RECORDS AND STUDIO CITY RECORDING STUDIO AND OWNER JEFF EMERY- THE EX KEYBOARDIST IN STEPPENWOLF AND DEEP PURPLE).
LIKE ALL RECORD COMPANIES AT THE START OF THE RECORD DEAL, STUDIO TIME IS CHEAP OR MUST BE PAID BACK BUT NOT FREE.
